Oman's team of Adam Al Barwani, Mahir Sampat, Mohib Al Kathiri, and Pransh Jagwani added to Oman's medal tally in the inaugural GCC Youth Games held in the UAE by winning the team Silver Medal in the golf event. The event was contested by teams of under 18 players from the UAE, Oman, Saudi, Kuwait, and Qatar, with the hosts the United Arab Emirates winning the Gold Medal and Saudi taking the Bronze.
Ahmed Al Jhdhamy, General Secretary of the Oman Golf Association, said "The team succeeded in adding a medal to Oman's tally, our players performed well but the hosts had the advantage. We appreciate the Oman Olympic Committee's efforts, as well as the orgnaising committee in Abu Dhabi for the excellent arrangements."
