The Championships will be played at Abu Dhabi Golf Club from the 14th to the 17th of March with the men playing four rounds and the Under 18’s playing three. Players from Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the hosts the United Arab Emirates will be competing for both team and individual medals.

The Omani delegation, headed up by Oman Golf Association Board Member Ghalib al Busaidi, includes National Team Coach Peter Bailey, Men’s players Azaan al Rumhy, Badr al Amri, Mohammed al Busaidi and Fahad al Kitani and Under 18 players Mohamed al Naamani, Al Munthir al Hinai, and Ayman al Busaidi.

Mundhir al Barwani, Chairman of the Oman Golf Association said, “We are extremely grateful for the support that has been extended to us by Mohsin Haider Darwish, Infrastructure, Technology, Industrial and Consumer Solutions (ITICS) and in particular to the Honourable Lujaina Mohsin Haider Darwish. This generous support will allow our Men’s and Under 18’s National Teams to travel and compete in the GCC Golf Championships at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.”

Lujaina Mohsin Darwish, Chairperson, MHD ITICS stated that MHD ITICS is honoured to be a sponsor to the National Team for the GCC Golf Championship. “As an organization, we strongly believe that competitive sports are one of the best builders of youth temperament in the country. May these talented individuals succeed and bring more glory to our beloved homeland,” she said.

The Chairman of the Oman Golf Association added that this tournament brings together the best amateur golfers from the region and Oman’s players’ participation is key in generating interest across all levels within the Sultanate in an effort to grow the game. “We have already seen the positive effects of this within our Ladies and younger junior squads who both won medals in the last GCC Golf Championships which were played here in Oman in 2019. We wish our Men and Under 18’s all the best for the upcoming tournament” he said.
